Dendrobium armitiae

Dendrobium armitiae F.M.Bailey, Queensland Agric. J. 4 (1899) 48.

Type: Arnet cult. s.n. (New Guinea, Samarai) (holo BRI?, not found, fide Clements & Jones).

Colours: Flowers light pink, lateral lobes of the lip very dark brown, disc white, callus dark yellow, column-foot orange-yellow.

Habitat: Not known.

Flowering time in the wild: Not known.

Distribution: New Guinea.

Distribution in New Guinea: Papua New Guinea (Samarai).

Notes: Kraenzlin reduced this to a synonym of the Australian Dendrobium keffordii, which is now known to be the same as Dendrobium baileyi F.Muell., a species not yet reliably recorded from New Guinea.

Cultivation: Warm growing epiphyte.
