Basionym: Dendrobium scotiiforme.
Rhizome short. Pseudobulbs crowded, 1-leaved, base fusiform, 1-1.4 by 0.45-0.7 cm, upper part very slender, 2.5-8 by 0.1-0.13 cm, cm. Leaves narrowly linear, semiterete, 9-12 by 0.17-0.2 cm, apex shortly bidentate. Inflorescences 1-flowered, spathe 1 cm long. Pedicel 2.75 cm long; ovary 0.25 cm long. Flower c. 4.3 cm across. Dorsal sepal 2.8 cm by 4 mm. Lateral sepals mentum 0.65 cm long, obtuse. Petals 2.9 cm by 1.8 mm. Lip 3-lobed, 1.27 by 0.6 cm, with 3 pubescent keels, the lateral ones terminating with a short tooth near the middle of the midlobe, the middle one inconspicuous and a little longer; midlobe clawed, the claw 0.2 cm long, the blade 0.46 by 0.44 cm. Column 0.3 cm long.

Colours: Sepals and petals white, outside in upper part suffused with dark brown, lip whitish, at the base pale green, midlobe golden yellow.

Distribution: New Guinea (endemic).
Distribution in New Guinea: Papua (northern part; Merauke Regency).
Notes: Diplocaulobium scotiiforme is characterised by the very narrow semiterete leaves.
Cultivation: Warm growing epiphyte?.
