Terrestrial, erect, up to c. 25 cm high. Roots rather thick, villose. Leaf basal, usually solitary, 7-8.5 by 3.5-4 cm, suberect, petiolate, blade oblong-elliptic, acuminate, base rounded, glabrous, petiole slender, 3.5-4.5 cm long, grooved, shorter than the blade. Scape straight or nearly so, rather laxly several-flowered more than twice as long as the leaf, with 2-3 small acuminate scales, terete, glabrous. Floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, twice shorter than the ovary. Flowers erect. Sepals linear-ligulate, 1.5 cm long, acute, erect, margins involute. Lateral sepals somewhat oblique. Petals narrowly and obliquely lanceolate-linear, 1 cm long, acute, glabrous. Lip lanceolate, when flattened 1.7 by 0.35 cm, subacute, at the base concave, constricted, blade lanceolate, inside densely papillose, mid-vein keeled-thickened, slightly concave, as long as the sepals. Column short, clinandrium 5-lobulate, rather thick. Anther ovate-cucullate, rather obtuse, outside minutely papillose. (After Schlechter, 1922).

Colours: Leaf green, whitish marbled. Flower green, lip red-brown with a blackish red spot.

Habitat: Terrestrial in lower montane forest. Altitude 1000 m.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
