Terrestrial, erect, 45-60 cm high. Rhizome decumbent, stem-like. Roots elongated, flexuose, somewhat villose. Stem leafy except at the base, terete, glabrous, in upper part with several distant scale-leaves, gradually passing into bracts, glandulose-puberulous. Leaves erect-patent, petiolate, obliquely elliptic, acuminate, base cuneate, glabrous, 7-12 cm long, near the middle 2.5-4.5 cm wide, petiole dilated at the base, sheathing, 3-4.5 cm long. Inflorescence densely many-flowered, elongated, rachis up to 20 cm long, about across the flowers 0.8-0.9 cm diameter. Floral bracts lanceolate, acuminate, glandulose-puberulous, ovary as long as or a little longer than the ovary. Flowers suberect. Median sepal ovate, obtuse, outside glandulose-puberulous, 0.35 cm long. Lateral sepals obliquely oblong, obtuse, outside glandulose-puberulous, a little longer than the median sepal. Petals narrowed at the base, obliquely and broadly rhombic, obtuse, glabrous, about as long as the lateral sepals. Lip as long as the petals, ovate-lanceolate, cucullate, in front extended into an obtuse, very small acumen or lobule, margins incurved, inside at the base sparsely adorned with falcate-subulate papillae. Column suborbicular. Anther ovate-cucullate, base cordate, acuminate. Ovary glandulose-puberulous, about 0.7 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914).

Habitat: Terrestrial in lowland forest. Altitude 150-400 m.

Flowering time in the wild: May, September.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
