Type: Kempter s.n. (Kaiser Wilhelmsland, area behind Vanimo) (holo B, lost)
Epiphytic, spreading, up to 25 cm long, sparsely branched. Rhizome stem-like, adnate to the pseudobulbs, flexuose; roots filiform. flexuose, thin, glabrous. Pseudobulbs entirely adnate with the rhizome, i.e. superposed, cylindrical, 1-leaved, 1-1.5 cm long. 0.25 cm diam. Leaf ligulate, subobtuse, sometimes with an apiculum, gradually somewhat narrowed towards the base, relatively thin-textured, 5-7 cm long, near the middle 0.65-0.8 cm wide, glabrous. Inflorescence apparently single, 1-flowered, terminal, peduncle c. 0.8 cm long. Floral bracts deltoid, minute. Sepals to above the middle connate into an obliquely ovoid, c. 8 mm long tube. Median sepal ligulate, subacute. Lateral sepals obliquely semiovate. Petals obliquely linear, subobtuse, 1-nerved, a little shorter than the sepals. Lip clawed; claw oblong-quadrate, at the base subauriculate-dilated, with 3 parallel, thickened nerves, 2.5 mm long; blade ovate, subobtuse acuminate, at the base cucullate-concave, inside with 3 parallel thickened nerves, 0.55 cm long, below the middle 0.4 cm wide. Column semiterete, somewhat dilated towards the apex, 0.5 cm long; foot very short. Ovary pedicellate, slender, c. 1 cm long, glarbrous. (After Schlechter, 1919)
