Epiphyte, tufted, small, 7-11 cm high. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs cylindrical; 1-leaved, 1.3-2 by 0.35-0.6 cm below the middle. Leaf erect or suberect, obliquely linear, apiculate, glabrous, 5-9.5 by almost 0.3-0.5 cm in the middle; base slightly narrowed. Inflorescence 1-flowered, basal, erect, filiform, glabrous, 3-4 cm long; with a few small, distant peduncle-scales. Floral bracts very small, elliptic, clasping, glabrous, much shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flower (sub)erect. Sepals reflexed, oblong-ligulate, minutely apiculate, glabrous, 0.8 cm long. Lateral sepals somewhat oblique, somewhat broader than the median one. Petals falcate-lanceolate, acuminate, 0.15 cm long; the front margin above the base subangular-dilated. Lip ligulate, subobtuse, 0.6 by 0.18 cm near the middle; the very base minutely concave-auriculate; narrowed in basal third; in the middle somewhat dilated; above slightly papillose; margins recurved; underneath concave. Column very small, with dilated base; stelidia short, in front shortly 2-angular, quadrangular; column-foot almost absent. Anther cucullate, apiculate, glabrous, umbo oblong. Ovary very slender, pedicellate, glabrous, including the pedicel 2 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)

Colours: Flowers whitish with rose-red nerves. Lip golden yellow with browned apex.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 800-900 m.

Flowering time in the wild: August, October.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
