Basionym: Osyricera ovata
Rhizomes somewhat nodulose, slender, more or less covered by thin, almost transparent scales. Leaves nearly sessile, ovate,coriaceous, 1 by 0.6 cm. Peduncles erect, filiform, 1.2 cm long, enlarged at the base in a cluster of transparent bracts. Flowers 0.6 cm diam., sepals and petals acuminate. Lip strongly glandular-hairy. (After Bailey, 1907)
Colours: Peduncle purplish. Flower deep-purple.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest.
Flowering time in the wild: October.
