Epiphyte, spreading, to 50 cm long. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Rhizome stem-like. Pseudobulbs superposed, cylindrical, very tightly adnate to the rhizome, 0.7-1.3 by 0.2-0.25 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf erect-patent, lanceolate, acute, 2-4.5 by 0.45-0.8 cm long. Inflorescences 1-flowered, with very small inconspicuous peduncle-scales. Floral bracts apiculate, as long as the ovary. Sepals oblong, obtuse, glabrous, 0.4 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, connate up to the apex, boat-shaped. Petals obliquely ovate-lanceolate, long falcate-acuminate, glabrous, 0.18 cm long. Lip narrowly linear, obtuse, 0.28 cm long; base not dilated; above at the base on upper side with a very small callus; underneath and along the margins except on base and apex with reversed, ciliate hairs. Column short; stelidia falcate-lanceolate, acute; column-foot straight. Anther helmet shaped-cucullate, glabrous. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.13 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)

Colours: Flower light rose-red. Petals white.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1300-2100 m.

Flowering time in the wild: January, April.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea), Solomon Islands.
