Epiphyte, erect, branched, bushy, 12-18 cm high. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Rhizome stem-like, somewhat rigid, covered with sheaths. Pseudobulbs distant, tightly adnate to the rhizome, 0.3-0.4 cm long; 1-leaved. Leaf erect-patent, narrowly ligulate, acute or apiculate, 0.15-0.3 by 0.25-0.45 cm. Inflorescences 1-flowered, very short, with 2 small inconspicuous peduncle-scales. Floral bracts cucullate, apiculate, somewhat longer than the ovary. Sepals oblong, subobtuse, 0.5 cm long, margins sparsely and shortly ciliate. Lateral sepals oblique, up connate up to the apex, boat-shaped. Petals obliquely ligulate-oblong, as long as the sepals; margins subdentate; apex subulate-extended. Lip narrowly rhombic, obtuse, 0.23 cm long; base with 2 minute auricles; above the base with a short, backwards pointing callus; apical half on the upper side papillose; margins densely ciliate. Column short; stelidia linear-quadrangular, obliquely cuspidate; column-foot straight, fleshy. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.15 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)
Colours: Flower sulphur yellow. Lip in front golden yellow.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1300 m.
Flowering time in the wild: June.
Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
