Epiphyte, creeping. Rhizome elongated. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs 2.5-3 cm apart, subcylindrical, 2.5-3.8 by 0.3-0.4 cm above the base; 1-leaved. Leaf suberect, ligulate, obtuse, glabrous, 9-13 by 1.3-1.8 cm; base narrowed. Inflorescences 1-flowered, 8-9 cm high, erect, slender, with a few small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts sheathing, apiculate, much shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Sepals lanceolate, caudate-elongated, subobtuse, 4.8 cm long, outside minutely papillose-puberulous. Lateral sepals falcate. Petals obliquely ovate-lanceolate, 0.6 cm long, subfalcate, elongated into a thread-like tip; near the base notched. Lip obtuse, curved, somewhat fleshy, 0.45 cm long; base quadrangular; in the middle finely pilose; in apical half somewhat narrowed. Column medium-sized; stelidia short, acute; column-foot incurved. Anther oblongoid-cucullate, with a very large umbo, glabrous. Ovary and pedicel glabrous, c. 2.5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)
Colours: Flower brownish. Lateral sepals with yellowish apex.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest; 0-2900 m.
Flowering time in the wild: January, May, June, July, August, September, October, December.
Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
