Epiphyte, slender, 12-15 cm high. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs crowded, ovoid, 0.8-1 by 0.4-0.5 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, elliptic or lanceolate-elliptic, acute or shortly acuminate, glabrous, including the petiole 2.5-6 by 0.7-1.4 cm in the middle; base narrowed in a more or less distinct petiole. Inflorescence 1-flowered, very slender, wiry, glabrous, to 12 cm long, with few small distant peduncle-scales. Floral bracts ovate-cucullate, apiculate, glabrous, much shorter than the slender pedicellate ovary. Flower suberect. Sepals oblong, apiculate, glabrous, 1.4 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, somewhat broader than the median sepal. Petals ascending, sigmoid-curved, obliquely rhombic, shortly acuminate, glabrous, 0.6 cm long; midrib thickened; in the middle gibbose-curved. Lip broadly elliptic, slipper-shaped, in total c. 1.2 by 0.6 cm near the middle; base very shortly clawed; basal auricles recurved, falcate-triangular, obtuse, the callus between these rounded-conical, very small; inside with 3 thickened nerves; in front elongated in a very small, triangular, subobtuse lobule. Column short, glabrous; stelidia subulate, not exceeding the basal third of the lip. Anther oblongoid-cucullate, glabrous, umbonate. Pedicel and ovary slender, glabrous, 1.1-1.3 cm long. Colours: Flowers yellow. Sepals inside with red longitudinal veins. Petals and lip spotted light red.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1300 m.

Flowering time in the wild: June.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
