Stem very short; roots laterally flattened, elongated, to 40 cm long, 0.2-0.4 cm wide. Leaves absent. Inflorescence 15-30 cm long, bristly hairy, rachis cone-shaped, densely flowered, 0.5 cm long. Floral bracts lanceolate, densely bristly hairy, the hairs lanceolate, acuminate, subulate, pustulate. Sepals oblong-linear, finely mucronate, 0.2 cm long, pustulate. Petals as long as the sepals but much wider, orbicular. Lip short, as long as the sepals, lanceolate, boat-shaped, acute, cucullate; lateral lobes very short, indistinct; spur as long as the ovary, at the base dilated, towards the apex cylindrical narrowed. Column broad, short; rostellum oblong, at the apex bifid. Anther large, ovate, long rostrate, beak oblong, obtuse; pollinia 2 [presumably 4 in 2 pairs], globose, bilobed, waxy; stipe long, linear, with the apex ovate; viscidium as long as the stipe, lanceolate, thickened at the apex. Colours: Pollinia dark red-purple, viscidium yellow; otherwise colours not recorded.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 759 to 1669 m.

Flowering time in the wild: Not known.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
