Stem short; roots elongated, linear, flattened, 30 cm long, to 0.2 cm wide. Inflorescences many, erect; peduncle filiform, glabrous, 3-3.7 cm long, at about one third above the base with a small, short, tubular, obtuse, apiculate scale; rachis probably short, with short internodes, glabrous, 0.4 cm long, across the bracts 0.17 cm wide. Floral bracts distichous, patent, overlapping, clasping the rachis, broadly ovate-triangular, acuminate, acute, concave, 0.1 cm long. Flowers c. 8, rather small, somewhat fleshy. Median sepal lanceolate, acute, concave, dorsally sparsely verrucose, 3-nerved, 0.65 by 0.18 cm. Lateral sepals clearly separated from the median sepal, obliquely lanceolate, subacute, concave, dorsally obtusely keeled and especially on the keel sparsely verrucose, 3-nerved, 0.63 by 0.17 cm. Petals obliquely lanceolate, narrowed in the apical part, fairly acute, concave, 3-nerved, almost 0.6 cm long, 0.17 cm wide. Lip concave, 3-lobed, spurred, 0.78 cm long including the spur, when flattened 0.8 cm long, across the lateral lobes 0.33 cm wide, when not flattened to the apex of the ovary 0.54 cm long, 0.17 cm wide, between the lateral lobes concave and thin, longitudinally 3-ribbed, the ribs in the basal part vanishing, the lateral ones dilated on the mid-lobe, the small median rib situated in a small channel; lateral lobes erect, clasping the column, semiorbicular, angular-rounded, in the basal fifth concave and thin, in front abruptly fleshy-thickened; mid-lobe porrect, at the apex slightly recurved, fleshy, oblong-triangular, concave-boat-shaped, at the apex laterally flattened, acute, keeled below, 0.35 cm long; spur parallel to the ovary, pointing backwards, obliquely clavate, 0.23 cm long, in the basal part cylindrical, the inflated part subelliptic-globose, with two very small thickenings in the mouth. Column very short, without anther 0.07 cm long; clinandrium concave, rather similar to the stigma-lobes; rostellum large, hammer-shaped, bipartite, the two segments porrect, parallel; stigma transversely oblong, deeply concave; deflexed to the rostellum, weakly 2-lobed. Anther cucullate, rounded-quadrangular, at the base slightly retuse, at the apex long abruptly rostrate, 0.07 cm long; pollinia obliquely obovoid. Ovary 6-grooved, especially in the grooves furfuraceous, 0.25 cm long, pedicel 0.15 cm long. (After Smith, 1916)
