Leafless epiphyte, large for the genus. Roots flexuose, strongly flattened, up to 50 cm long, 0.6 cm wide. Inflorescence densely many-flowered, including the densely hispid peduncle up to 7 cm high. Floral bracts ovate, acuminate, less than half as long as the ovary. Sepals lanceolate, acute, outside at the base sparsely muricate-rough, 1.5 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique. Petals narrowly falcate-lanceolate, acute, glabrous, almost as long as the sepals. Lip ovate, acute, glabrous, 1.3 cm long, below the middle 0.6 cm wide; spur subclavate, slightly decurved, 1.7 cm long. Column very short, glabrous; rostellum ascending, very long. Anther cucullate, long-rostrate; pollinia obliquely obovoid; stipe c. 6 times as long as the pollinia, at the base thin, gradually a little widened towards the apex; viscidium turned backwards, acute, narrow, linear, large. Colours: Flower light yellow, spur whitish with yellow tip.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 900 m.
Flowering time in the wild: September.
