Basionym: Dendrobium x intermedium Schltr.
Flowers similar in shape to Dendrobium lawesii but with a somewhat more pointed mentum. In size the flowers are more similar to Dendrobium flammula.
Colours: Flowers purple-red, orange-yellow in upper half.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest. Altitude 1200 m.
Flowering time in the wild: June.
Distribution: New Guinea (endemic).
Distribution in New Guinea: Papua New Guinea (Morobe Province: Dischore Mountains).
Notes: This is a natural hybrid between Dendrobium lawesii and Dendrobium flammula.
Cultivation: Intermediate growing epiphyte.
