Differs from the typical form in the taller and more robust habit, usually somewhat wider leaves, somewhat larger flowers, the lip in the middle having 5 thickened nerves, the somewhat longer column, the larger and more rounded lobes of the clinandrium, the lower lobes being shorter than the upper lobes. Colours: Flower golden yellow.
Habitat: Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1300 m.
Flowering time in the wild: June.
Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
