Terrestrial. Pseudobulbs 7.8 cm long, 0.5-0.8 cm diam., cylindrical to fusiform, ascending, c. 4-leaved. Leaves petiolate; leaf blade 6.2-10.6 by 2.7-3.2 cm, lanceolate-ovate, acuminate,; petiole 1.4-1.8 cm long, channelled, widening towards the sheathing base. Inflorescence c. 21 cm long, erect; rachis 13 cm long, rather densely 70 or more-flowered. Floral bracts to 0.75 cm long, narrowly triangular, acuminate. Flowers small, not resupinate. Median sepal 0.26 cm by 0.12 cm, oblong-ovate, rounded to shortly apiculate, 3-nerved. Lateral sepals 0.24 by 0.17-0.18 cm, widely ovate at base, narrowing upwards, apex rounded to shortly apiculate; 5-nerved. Petals 0.2-0.22 cm by 0.6-0.7 mm, slightly sigmoid, narrowly linear, obtuse to truncate, 1-nerved. Lip to 0.4 by 0.35 cm, long-auriculate; blade almost rectangular in outline, with 12 teeth along the apical margins and with two central teeth at the apex of the mid-lobe, shortest tooth rounded to obtuse at apex; mid-lobe 0.8-0.9 mm long, 0.8 mm wide at the base; lateral lobes semi-orbicular, with 5 teeth of unequal length, the longest tooth to 1.2 mm long, 0.2-0.3 mm wide at the base, narrowly linear, acute, sometimes an additional, external tooth present, commonly triangular, short and wide, rounded; central cavity deep, obscurely rimmed, 0.5-0.7 mm long, 0.2-0.3 mm wide; central nerves slightly thickened basally; auricles 1.6-1.9 mm long, up to 1.2 mm wide at the base, triangular. Colours: Leaves somewhat glossy, green. Flowers yellow green.

Habitat: Terrestrial in hill forest on limestone on steep slope; 600 m.

Flowering time in the wild: October.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).

Cultivation: Warm growing terrestrial.

Notes: We consider this to be a species of Malaxis, but to the best of our knowledge there is no name available under this genus.
