Peduncle erect, thin, angular, 8.5-40 cm long, covered with c. 4 short, appressed, triangular, 0.2 cm long scales; rachis 2 cm long, c. 7 flowered. Floral bracts shortly triangular, concave, keeled, 0.1-0.2 cm long. Flowers widely opening, 1.6 cm wide. Median sepal reflexed, lanceolate, obtuse, concave, 0.8 cm long, 0.2 cm wide. Lateral sepals widely patent, subobliquely lanceolate, obtuse, concave, 0.85 cm long, 0.25 cm wide. Petals recurved, lanceolate, spathulate, obtuse, concave, with incurved margins, 0.8 cm long, 0.23 cm wide. Lip erect, clawed; claw broad, with especially in the apical part thickened margins, adnate to the column, forming a 0.37 cm long tube; blade 3-lobed, inside near the base of the lateral lobes with two short, rounded, thick calli and with two pubescent longitudinal keels that are thickened below the midlobe, lip when flattened in total 0.9 cm long, between the lateral lobes 0.4 cm wide, from base up to apex of the lateral lobes 0.55 cm long; lateral lobes very small, erect, incurved, rounded; mid-lobe erect, obovate-triangular, crenulate-finely erose, near the middle indistinctly 3-lobulate-swollen, verrucose and papillose-pubescent, 0.35 cm long, 0.48 cm wide. Column adnate to the lip, at the apex free, slender, clavate, slightly flexuose, 0.55 cm long; clinandrium concave. Ovary straight, 6 grooved, 0.8 cm long, at the apex with a 6-dentate, membranous, 0.1 cm long, 0.16 cm wide calyculus. (After Smith, 1909 and Smith, 1913)
Colours: Stem and ovary dull brownish and violet. Sepals and petals light brown, lip and column white.
Habitat: Terrestrial in hill and lower montane forest; 300 to 1000 m.
Flowering time in the wild: April, May, June, August, December.
Distribution: Malesia (Peninsular Malaysia, Java, New Guinea, Philippines), Vietnam.
