Differs from the typical variety in the smaller stature, smaller flowers and in the lip having a broader, obtuse sinus between the lobes. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)
Colours: Not recorded, presumably as for the typical variety.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1200 m.
Flowering time in the wild: May.
Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
