Basionym: Microstylis fasciata var. concolor

Differs in the uniformly light brown upper side of the leaves and the more open inflorescence. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)

Colours: Leaves pale brown above. Flowers colour not recorded, presumably yellow, later red.

Habitat: Terrestrial in moist spots in lowland forest; 150 m.

Flowering time in the wild: October.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
