Epiphyte, pendulous, up to 65 cm long. Rhizome unbranched, covered with large sheaths. Roots filiform, glabrous. Pseudobulbs 3-4 cm apart, oblongoid, unequally compressed, 1.2-1.7 by 0.5-0.7 cm near the middle. Leaf patent, ovate or ovate-elliptic, acuminate, thin textured, reticulate veined, 8-11 by.5-5.7 cm below the middle; base subcordate. Inflorescences 1-flowered, c. 3-4 cm long, fascicled, with a few small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts cucullate, apiculate, much shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Sepals elliptic, subacute, outside glabrous, inside papillose-puberulous, 0.8 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique. Petals broadly elliptic, subobtuse, 0.3 cm long; margins densely ciliate. Lip fleshy, linguiform, obtuse, 0.55 cm long; base curved; underneath puberulous; above longitudinally pitted. Column short. Stelidia long, subulate; column-foot somewhat incurved. Anther cucullate, with papillose umbo. Ovary pedicellate, glabrous, 1.2 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)

Colours: Flower light yellow. Petals with one blackish-brown spot. Lip slightly darker yellow.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1300-1500 m.

Flowering time in the wild: September, November.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
