Epiphyte, very small, c. 7 cm long. Rhizome stem-like, covered with sheaths. Roots filiform, glabrous. Pseudobulbs subparallel to the rhizome, cylindrical, 0.3-0.4 by 0.1-0.15 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf obliquely linear, gradually narrowed to the apex, apiculate, 3-5 by 0.2-0.25 cm near the middle. Inflorescence 1-flowered, short, with a few small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts very small, apiculate, distinctly shorter than the ovary. Flower glabrous. Sepals oblong, acute, 0.45 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, front margin somewhat dilated. Petals obliquely ligulate, obtuse, 0.23 cm long. Lip thickly carnose, obtuse, in outline elliptic, epapillose, 0.3 cm long; above the middle longitudinally grooved. Column short; stelidia subulate, hardly reaching the middle of the lip; column-foot slightly incurved. Anther cucullate, glabrous. Ovary shortly pedicellate, glabrous, clavate, 0.5 cm long. Colours: Flower reddish with darker stripes.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1000 m.

Flowering time in the wild: December.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
