Epiphyte, to 50 cm long, spreading. Rhizome stem-like, flexuose. Roots filiform, glabrous. Pseudobulbs cylindrical, very tightly adnate to the rhizome, 2.5-3.5 by 0.2 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf linear-ligulate, acute, 4-7.3 by 0.6-1. cm near the middle; base distinctly narrowed. Inflorescences 1-flowered, very short, with a few small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts very small, slightly more than half as long as the ovary. Sepals lanceolate, long acuminate, 0.7 cm long, median with minutely finely ciliate margins. Lateral sepals oblique, glabrous, 0.8 cm long. Petals obliquely oblong-ligulate, obtuse, 0.25 cm long; below the middle slightly constricted; margins very minutely finely ciliate. Lip lanceolate-oblong, acute; base with 2 minute auricles; underneath the sides in basal half minutely papillose; above the base with 2 minutely papillose short keels. Column short; stelidia falcate-subulate; column-foot almost straight. Anther reniform-cucullate, glabrous. Pedicel and ovary short, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)

Colours: Flower white. Lip brownish red with yellow apex.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1200 m.

Flowering time in the wild: March, June.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea), Solomon Islands.
