Bulbophyllum gjellerupii

Bulbophyllum gjellerupii J.J.Sm., Nova Guinea 14 (1929) 481, pl. 79, fig. 124

Type: Bogor cult. (Gjellerup) 344 (holo BO)

Very similar to Bulbophyllum gerlandianum. Differs in: Median sepal 30-40 by 7-8 mm, index 4.1-4.8. Lateral sepals 33-40 by 9-11 mm, index 3.2-3.7. Petals 26-33 by 4.5-8 mm, index 4.1-6.7. Stelidia with a deltoid obtuse wing along the lower margin, half-way the column or towards its base. (After Vermeulen, ms.)

Colours: Flower pale green with purple spots and with purple tips to the sepals.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest; 60-160 m.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).

Cultivation: Warm growing epiphyte.
