Pseudobulbs crowded, obliquely elliptic-ovoid, in front flattened-concave, broadly obtuse, 0.3-0.45 by 0.175-0.23 cm. Leaf lanceolate to elliptic, very shortly acutely acuminate; base contracted; above on either side of the midrib grooved, convex, fleshy, 1.9-3.3 by 0.6-0.83 cm, or even 2.1 by 1 cm. Inflorescences 1-flowered, fascicled; peduncle filiform, c. 5-8.5 cm long, from the middle to the base with a few small tubular sheaths. Floral bract tightly tubular, acuminate, 0.17 cm long. Flower very small, not resupinate; sepals widely patent or more or less reflexed. Median sepal pointing downwards, long subulate-acuminate, 3-nerved, c. 1.1 by 0.34 cm; base ovate-oblong convex, above concave; very minutely finely ciliate. Lateral sepals to the apex connate in an ovate, long acuminate, 3-nerved, slightly over 1 by 0.4 cm big synsepal. Petals porrect, parallel, obliquely ovate, gradually acuminate, acute, in the basal part concave, to the top convex, finely ciliate, inside and outside puberulous, 1-nerved, fleshy, 0.3 by 0.17 cm. Lip elongated, in total 0.63 cm long; base dilated convex on either side rounded, narrowly linear, acute glabrous, 0.06 cm long, very shortly clawed with 2 reversed, horizontal, oblong, strongly falcate-incurved, obtuse, auricles; above the base with a very short, elliptic, convex, to the back in 3 small ribs extending callus; underneath concave, top part long patent, to the apex accrescent-ciliate, 0.28 cm long. Column very short, thick, 0.15 cm long; stelidia large, much exceeding the anther, bipartite, the lower tooth oblong-triangular acute, the upper tooth much longer filiform, falcate-incurved; column-foot short, thick, rounded, callus-like. Anther very small, cucullate, almost 0.04 cm tall; connective conspicuous, papillose. Ovary pedicellate, obtusely angled curved, furfuraceous, 0.25 cm long. (After Smith, 1916)

Colours: Flower deep brown-violet, almost blackish-violet. Sepals, petals and lip at the base metallic green.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest.
