Epiphyte with stem-like, scarcely branched, slender, pendulous rhizome to 35 cm long. Roots filiform, glabrous. Pseudobulbs compressed, narrowly ellipsoid, appressed to the rhizome, 2.5-3.5 long; 1-leaved. Leaf broadly ovate to suborbicular, apiculate, 0.7-1 by 0.5-0.8 cm at or below the middle. Inflorescences 1-flowered, very small, sheaths papillose, acuminate, inconspicuous. Floral bracts acuminate, papillose-rough, as long as the ovary. Flower erect-patent. Sepals elliptic, acuminate, glabrous, 0.55 cm long; the lateral ones oblique. Petals obliquely oblong-ligulate, apiculate, glabrous. 0.35 cm long. Lip ovate-lanceolate, eciliate, hardly 0.35 cm long; base slightly narrowed in a claw, with a rather inconspicuous callus; margins slightly incurved; apex obtuse. Column short; stelidia falcate-ligulate, obliquely apiculate; column-foot straight, very long. Anther helmet shaped-cucullate, glabrous. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, hardly longer than 0.1 cm. Colours: Flower dark carmine-red, white to the base.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1200 m.
Flowering time in the wild: January.
