Epiphyte, pendulous, to 75 cm long. Rhizome branched, stem-like. Roots filiform, glabrous. Pseudobulbs distant, narrow, cylindrical, 2-3 by 0.15-0.2 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf linear-ligulate, acute, 9-13 by almost 0.4-0.7 cm in the middle; base somewhat narrowed. Inflorescences 1-flowered, slender, with a few small peduncle-scales, c. 2 cm long. Floral bracts cucullate, apiculate, somewhat shorter than the ovary. Flower glabrous. Sepals lanceolate, acute or subacuminate, 0.7 cm long. Petals obliquely lanceolate-ligulate, acute, somewhat shorter than the sepals. Lip tongue-shaped, subobtuse, somewhat fleshy; base curved; in the middle with obtuse swellings. Column short; stelidia subulate; column-foot somewhat incurved. Anther cucullate; apical rather finely warty. Ovary shortly pedicellate, clavate, 0.5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)
Colours: Flower outside reddish, inside whitish. Petals with red spots. Lip yellow.
Habitat: Epiphyte in montane forest; 1800-2500 m.
Flowering time in the wild: November.
Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
