Epiphyte, compact, 5-7 cm high. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs crowded, ovoid, 1-1.5 cm wide, 0.4-0.6 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, elliptic, subobtuse, glabrous, coriaceous, 2.5-4.5 by 0.7-1.4 cm near the middle; base narrowed into a short but distinct, 1-1.5 cm long petiole. Inflorescence 1-flowered, basal, short, c. 1 cm long; with few small, clasping peduncle-scales. Floral bracts ovate-cucullate, apiculate, glabrous, slightly more than half as long as the pedicellate ovary. Flower erect or erect-patent. Sepals oblong, shortly acuminate, c. 1.1 cm long. Median sepal inside very minutely papillose, somewhat broader and longer than the lateral sepals. Lateral sepals oblique. Petals at the base very shortly clawed, obliquely quadrangular, shortly acuminate, slightly sigmoid-curved, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Lip broadly elliptic, slipper-shaped, in total 0.9 cm by 0.45 cm near the middle; base very shortly clawed; basal auricles slightly recurved, obliquely oblong-falcate, callus between them low, rather inconspicuous; lip margins thickened; at apex elongated in a very small, oblong, subobtuse lobule. Column short, glabrous; stelidia subulate, not exceeding the basal third of the lip. Anther oblongoid-cucullate, in front papillose; with oblong umbo. Pedicel and ovary glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Colours: Flowers densely spotted red.

Habitat: Epiphyte in montane forest; 2400 m.

Flowering time in the wild: November.
