Basionym: Appendicula bracteata
Epiphytic, erect., c. 30 cm high. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, flexuose, finely villose. Stems erect or suberect, unbranched, terete, entirely covered with the tightly clasping leaf-sheaths, densely leafy, 0.25-0.3 cm diam. Leaves erect-patent, obliquely oblong, unequally bilobulate with a subulate apiculum, l.7-2.8 cm long, near the middle 0.5-0.9 cm wide. Inflorescences terminal, subsessile, rather laxly 8-14-flowered, up to 4.5 cm long . Floral bracts erect-patent, becoming subrecurved, slightly surpassing the flowers, oblong-lanceolate, acute. Flowers erect-patent, glabrous. Sepals ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, mid-rib outside keeled-thickened, 0.7 cm long. Lateral sepals falcate-oblique, at the base strongly dilated; mentum semi-oblong, obtuse, 0.3 cm long. Petals obliquely and narrowly ligulate, rather obtuse, a little shorter than the sepals. Lip with a broadly ligulate claw, rhombic-elliptic, acuminate, 0.7 cm long, above the middle 0.3 cm wide, in the middle 2-ribbed, below the middle with a backwards pointing, obtuse, 2-apiculate, carnose callus. Column short, in specimen seen without rostellum. Anther deeply 3-fid, acuminate. Ovary pedicellate, clavate, glabrous, 0.7 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1919, as Appendicula bracteata Schltr.).
