Epiphyte, very small, spreading, c. 10-25 cm long. Rhizome stem-like, covered with sheaths. Roots filiform, glabrous. Pseudobulbs close together, subparallel to the rhizome, cylindrical, 0.5-0.7 by 0.15-0.2 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect-patent, linear, acute or apiculate, somewhat narrowed towards the base, 3-6.5 by 0.2-0.5 cm near the middle. Inflorescences 1-flowered, short, with a few small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts very small, distinctly shorter than the ovary. Sepals oblong, apiculate, glabrous, 0.55-0.6 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, towards the base the anterior margins somewhat dilated. Petals obliquely oblong, broadly obtuse, 0.18 cm long. Lip oblong, broadly obtuse, 0.33 cm long; base somewhat broader; underneath except the very base densely covered with minute, subulate, obtuse, papillae; above slightly sulcate. Column short; stelidia subulate, hardly reaching the middle of the lip; column-foot somewhat incurved. Anther broadly ellipsoid-cucullate, glabrous. Ovary shortly pedicellate, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Colours: Flower yellowish, inside striped red. Petals with red markings. Lip red.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest; 250-300 m.

Flowering time in the wild: May, August.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
