Stems erect, stout, terete, not or sparsely branching, 70-90 cm long, densely many-leaved. Leaves erect-patent, linear-lanceolate, 5-12 by 0.6-1.2 cm, apex acuminate, shallowly emarginate, with a bristle-like mucro. Inflorescences lateral or sometimes also terminal, racemose, erect-patent to erect, 4-6 cm long, rather laxely several-flowered. Floral bracts lanceolate, as long as or surpassing the flower, apex acuminate. Flowers c. 0.6 cm long. Dorsal sepal ovate, 0.4 cm long, apex acuminate. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate, 0.4 cm by 0.3 mm, mentum obtuse. Petals obliquely narrowly oblong-ligulate, a little shorter than the dorsal sepal, apex obtuse. Lip in outline pandurate, 0.5 cm long, above the base 0.3, apical half 0.25 cm wide, at the rounded base with a V-shaped appendage, of which the margins are decurrent on the blade; apical half ovate, obtuse. Column short, rostellum incumbent at the base, apical part ascending-porrect, apex minutely emarginate; column-foot long. Anther incumbent, rounded, apex shortly acuminate.

Colours: Flower pale yellow.

Habitat: Terrestrial in open places in montane forest. Altitude 1800 m.

Flowering time in the wild: January.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
