Type: Schlechter 16254 (holo B, lost; iso E, K, L)

Differs from the typical form in the broadly and obliquely elliptic petals, the broadly elliptic lip which is entirely without an appendage, in the column in front at the apex being deeply bilobed, with the lobes concealing the stigma, and in the short column-foot. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)

Colours: Not recorded.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest in shaded positions. Altitude 300 m.

Flowering time in the wild: July, December.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
