Epiphyte, erect, c. 20-25 cm high. Rhizome very short. Roots thin, flexuose, slender, minutely papillose. Pseudobulbs crowded, narrowly ovoid or cylindrical-ovoid, 2-2.5 by 0.5-0.7 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, obliquely oblong-ligulate, acute, 17-23 by almost 2.3-2.7 cm in the middle; base gradually narrowed into the channelled, 3-4 cm long petiole. Inflorescences, 1-flowered from near base of the pseudobulbs, usually several, short, erect; peduncle partly covered with c. 3 clasping, large, 1-1.3 cm long sheaths. Floral bract elliptic-cucullate, apiculate, much shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flower in the section small, erect, rather thick as in most species of the section. Sepals lanceolate, subobtuse, glabrous, 1 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique. Petals obliquely oblong-ligulate, shortly acuminate or apiculate, glabrous, hardly 0.4 cm long. Lip fleshy, curved, in outline oblong, obtuse, with a median furrow, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Column: stelidia linear, acuminate, rather large; column-foot incurved. Ovary pedicellate, slender, glabrous, c. 2.2 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1921)
