Erect, branched, bushy, up to 18 cm high epiphytic herb. Stems rather stout. Leaves patent-spreading, subcoriaceous, glabrous, ovate or slightly oblong-ovate, 0.6-2.3 by 0.4-0.8 cm, unequally 2-lobed at tip, longer tip obtuse, shorter rounded, mid-rib grooved above, prominent below, margin thin, wavy, scarious; sheaths cylindrical, 0.3-0.7 cm long, many-nerved, rather densely warty. Inflorescence 25-flowered. Peduncle 0.1 cm long, glabrous. Spathes glabrous, broadly and often obliquely obovate-orbicular, 1-1.2 cm across, obtusely acuminate, many-nerved. Floral bracts glabrous, obovate, obliquely oblong-ovoid, 0.35-0.4 cm long, trigonous, curved. Flowers glabrous. Median sepal obovate-oblong, 0.7-0.8 by 0.3-0.45 cm, obtuse, 3-nerved at base, 5-7-nerved in higher parts. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate, 0.7-0.8 by 0.5 cm, almost entirely free along lower margins; mentum rounded, 2-lobed in frontal view, rounded at tip, 3-nerved at base, 6- or more-nerved in apical parts. Petals obliquely elliptic or elliptic-ovate, 0.5-0.6 by 0.3 cm, rounded at tip, 3-nerved at base, 5-nerved in higher parts. Lip obovate-oblong, 5-sided, 0.4-0.45 by 0.25-0.3 cm, subacute, spur obliquely conoid, 0.2 by 0.2 cm, 2-lobed at tip, entire lip 7-nerved. Column short and stout, curved, 0.2 by 0.15 by 0.12 cm. Stelidia oblong, 0.08-0.1 cm long, obtuse. Anther cucullate-kidney-shaped, 0.1-0.3 by 0.15 by 0.12 cm, dorsally umbonate, retuse at either end. Pollinia dark brown, pyriform, 0.06 cm long. Capsule obovoid, trigonous, 0.6 by 0.3 cm, (After Van Royen, 1979).

Colours: Flowers greenish white, tip of lip red. Fruit glossy brown.

Habitat: Epiphyte in upper montane forest in exposed positions. Altitude 2905 m.

Flowering time in the wild: July.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
