Epiphytic, small, 10-25 cm long. Roots filiform, glabrous. Stem densely leafy, gradually elongating, covered with striate-veined leaf-sheaths. Leaves patent, linear, apex obliquely subobtuse, 5.5-l0 cm long, near the middle 0.7-1 cm wide. Inflorescence decurved, shortly pedunculate, densely many-flowered, 2-4 cm long, c. 1.5-2 cm diam. across the flowers. Floral bracts lanceolate, acute, shorter than the ovary. Flowers patent, glabrous. Sepals elliptic, subacute, almost 0.5 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, broader. Petals similar to the sepals, subacute, oblique, almost 0.4 cm long. Lip spurred; lateral lobes semiquadrate, very small; mid-lobe lanceolate, acute, apex revolute, not reaching the apices of the sepals; spur in front compressed, towards the apex narrowed and recurved, obtuse, c. 0.8 cm long. Colours: Flowers yellowish, sepals and petals with reddish stripes.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest; 300 to 900 m.

Flowering time in the wild: April, May.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
