Epiphytic, small, up to 7 cm high. Rhizome very short; roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Stems densely 7-8-leaved, straight or nearly so. Leaves erect-patent, subfalcate-oblique, linear-lanceolate, acute, glabrous, free part 1.7-3 cm long, at the base 0.3-0.4 cm wide. Inflorescence laxly 15-20-flowered, erect, carrying flowers up to the base, c. 3.5 cm long. Floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, subentire, glabrous, dorsally keeled, about as long as the ovary. Flowers minute, patent, glabrous. Sepals ovate-oblong, obtuse, almost 0.05 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique. Petals obliquely rhombic-elliptic, subacute, with a few short marginal teeth, a little longer than the sepals. Lip only slightly longer than the sepals, at the base subcordate-truncate with subacute angles, in apical half a little narrowed and extended into a subquadrate, at the apex truncate, apiculate lobe. Column very short, rather thick, glabrous. Anther subreniform, obtuse. Ovary subclavate, glabrous, including the pedicel almost 0.1 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)

Colours: Flowers yellowish flesh-colour, anther yellow.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1300 m.

Flowering time in the wild: May.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
