Rhizome 1.5-7 mm diam., sections between pseudobulbs 2-9 cm long, bract fibres rather thin, persistent. Pseudobulbs ovoid, 1-3 by 0.6-1.3 cm. Petiole 1-2.8 cm. Leaf blade elliptic to obovate, 5.5-24 by 1.6-7 cm, index (length/width) 1.5-4.4; rounded. Flowers moderately opening. Median sepal spreading with incurved top part, elliptic to ovate-triangular, 15-24 by 4-7.5 mm, index 2.3-4; acute to shortly acuminate, base rather narrowly attached. Lateral sepals free, with downwards (c. in the direction of the tip of the petals) curved top part, ovate-triangular to triangular, 13-24 by 6-8.5 mm, index 2-3.2; acute, base widely attached; otherwise as the median sepal. Petals spreading with incurved top part, elliptic to ovate, 13-20 by 3-4.5 mm, index 3.6-5.3; subacute to shortly acuminate, base rather broadly attached. Lip recurved, triangular with elliptic top part, 6-8.5 by 2-4 mm, index 1.7-3.5 (all without artificial spreading); rounded, margins with an acute angle above the base when the lip is observed in lateral view; thick; adaxially concave near the base, convex towards the tip; abaxially with a retuse ridge up to about 1/2 of the length of the lip, top part concave. Column 3.8-4.8 mm long, c. straight in profile, stigma without teeth at the base; column foot without ridges. Stelidia porrect, triangular, 1-1.5 mm long, rounded to acute, slightly above half-way the length of the column with a porrect or somewhat antrorse, triangular, obtuse to acute tooth along the lower margin. Colours: Sepals and petals cream coloured to yellowish green, with red to purple spots. Lip pinkish. Flowers with a fruity scent.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest.

Flowering time in the wild: May.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea), Australia.
