Rhizome very short, branched, rooting. Pseudobulbs close together, spirally arranged, erect-patent, curved, elongated, obtuse, quadrangular, especially in front and back 3-4-grooved, 0.8 by 0.15-0.2 cm. Leaf linear, very shortly acutely acuminate, convex, subcoriaceous, c. 2.8-3.6 by 0.43-0.48 cm; base somewhat narrowed and conduplicate; above on either side of the midrib grooved. Inflorescences 1-flowered, from the nodes of the rhizome, fascicled; peduncle thinly filiform, c. 1.5-1.75 cm long. Floral bract tubular, above slightly widened, subulate-apiculate, 0.1-0.15 cm long. Flower very small, delicate; sepals erect-patent. Median sepal lanceolate, subulate-acuminate, concave, 3-nerved, 0.48 by 0.15 cm. Lateral sepals divergent, oblong-triangular, falcate, subulate-acuminate, concave, 3-nerved, 0.55 by almost 0.2 cm; lower margin incurved. Petals very small, obliquely lanceolate, somewhat dilated towards the base, slightly falcate, acute, somewhat erose, 1-nerved, 0.14 by slightly over 0.05 cm. Lip mobile, slightly curved, tongue-shaped, from above linear, obtuse, 0.28 cm long; basal part with erect, dilated, rounded margins, channelled, with 2 small inconspicuous keels; underneath broadly channelled, the channel delimited by 2 convex, pilose keels. Column 0.1 5 cm long, with triangular, acuminate apex; stelidia very long, filiform-subulate, slightly sigmoid. Anther cucullate, transversely elliptic, 0.04 cm wide; connective strongly thickened; apex broadly and obtuse elongated.; stigma longitudinal, elliptic; column-foot making an obtuse angle with the ovary, almost straight, 0.1 cm long, its apex slightly incurved and on either side dilated in a small lobule. Ovary 6-grooved, 0.08 cm long; pedicel filiform, 0.95 cm long, 0.07-0.1 cm above the base articulate. (After Smith, 1916)

Colours: Flower light soiled tawny yellow with red-brown longitudinal stripes. Lip ligh.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lowland forest; 400 m.

Flowering time in the wild: November.
