Type: Brass 9369 (holo L; iso AMES, BO)
Erect, branched, up to 9 cm high. Rhizome glabrous, slender, covered with bracts, the latter ovate-oblong, up to 8 mm long, acute, crested. Pseudobulbs glabrous, 2-5 mm apart, more or less at right angle to rhizome, cylindric, 12-17 mm long, ribbed, at base with several bracts. Leaves erect, coriaceous, glabrous but margin finely papillate except for coarse papillae near tip, long spathulate-linear, 5-7.5 by 0.2-0.5 cm, acute, midrib grooved above, prominent, below, lateral nerves 2-5 on either side of midrib, with less distinct nerves in between, indistinct above, more distinct below, margin slightly revolute. Inflorescence 1-flowered, solitary, up to 9 cm long. Peduncle glabrous, terete, with two bracts, the basal one glabrous, tubular, up to 8 mm long, acute, and the apical one more funnelshaped and shorter. Pedicel glabrous, 8 mm long, articulate and slightly widened at tip. Ovary glabrous, claviform, 4 by 1 mm, 6-grooved, at base narrowing into a c. 15 mm long stalk-like part. Flowers with spreading curved sepals. Median sepal glabrous, narrowly elongate-ovate, 20 by 2.5 mm, caudate, acute, 3-nerved, margin slightly wavy. Lateral sepals glabrous, connate at base only, obliquely elongate-ovate, 22 by 3.5 mm, caudate, acute, 3-nerved, margin stronger wavy than of median sepals. Lateral petals scariousfimbriate mainly along lower and apical parts, obliquely trapezoid, 3 by 1.5 mm, obliquely clawed at base, 1-nerved. Lip subdensely hispidulous on either side of basal part with antrorse hairs, inner side of V-cleft glabrous, mobile, spathulate in outline, apical part flat, sigmoid seen laterally, 6 by 2 mm, truncate and slightly irregularly 3-lobed at tip, auricled and V-cleft at base, margin of cleft thickened, most basal part membranous, but towards tip of column-foot cup-like widened, 3-nerved in basal part, 5-nerved in apical part. Column short, broadly conoid, 1 by 2 mm, acute towards filament. Stelidia subulate, 0.8 mm long, curved upwards. Anther broadly trapezoid-cucullate, 0.5 by 1 by 0.2 mm, subtruncate, base cordate, margin and tip curved upwards, crested. Pollinia yellow, 4, in 2 unequal parts, disk-like, 0.3 mm across. Column-foot 2 mm long, with thickened margins, at tip auricled and widened. Capsule not seen. (After van Royen, 1979)
