Epiphyte, very small, 8-10 cm high. Rhizome short. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs oblongoid-ovoid, obtuse, 4-angular, 1-1.5 by 0.4-0.5 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect-patent ligulate, minutely apiculate, glabrous, 4-7.5 by 5.5-7 cm near the middle; base narrowed. Inflorescence 1-flowered, slender, filiform, c. 6 cm long; with small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts very small, many times shorter than the pedicel. Median sepal lanceolate, strongly acuminate, minutely and densely finely ciliate, 1.3 cm long, glabrous. Lateral sepals falcate, ovate-lanceolate, caudate-extended, 2.3 cm long; apex antenniform-subclavate. Petals falcate-oblong, aristate-acuminate, 0.6 cm long; margins minutely and unequally serrulate. Lip quadrangular-rhombic at the base, elongated in a subulate, below the apex somewhat dilated extension, curved, glabrous, 0.9 cm long; base obtuse, with 2 keels. Column short, glabrous; stelidia subulate, rather short compared to related species; column-foot incurved. Anther oblongoid-cucullate, glabrous; at the top dilated. Colours: Flower dark purplish red.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 759-800 m.
Flowering time in the wild: September.
