Bulbophyllum pseudofilicaule J.J.Sm., Nova Guinea 18 (1935) 64, pl. 13, fig. 43

Type: Docters van Leeuwen 10388 (holo BO, also sprit material; iso L sterile); para: Docters van Leeuwen 10326 a (BO)

Plant small. Rhizome branched at the base, further rarely branched, only rooting at the base, filiform, to c. 13 cm long; entirely covered with tubular, subulate-apiculate, prominently veined sheaths. Pseudobulbs 0.5-1.1 cm apart, very small, largely adnate to the rhizome, subterete, 0.15-0.2 by 0.1 cm; underneath flattened; towards the base attenuate; 1-leaved. Leaf patent, lanceolate or subovate-oblong, thick fleshy, on either side sparsely punctate, c. 1-1.5 by 0.3-0.43 cm; base very shortly contracted in a petiole; top mostly very shortly acutely acuminate. Inflorescences 1-flowered, many from the nodes of the rhizome, short, fascicled; peduncle 0.17 cm long, with few small membranous scales. Floral bract clasping the ovary, appressed to the median sepal, acute, concave, membranous, 0.16 cm long. Flower very small, 0.38 cm long; sepals cohering. Median sepal oblong, obtuse, concave, 3-nerved, 0.2 by almost 0.1 cm; top abruptly extended in a 0.18 cm long thread. Lateral sepals hardly forming a mentum, obliquely oblong-triangular, concave, 3-nerved, slightly more than 0.2 by almost 0.1 cm; top acute, extended in a 0.16 cm long thread. Petals very small, porrect, obliquely oblong, to the apex frequently inconspicuously dilated, 1-nerved, 0.06 by 0.03 cm; top almost rounded with a very short, obtuse or acute triangular apicula. Lip inserted by a short, narrow ligament, mobile, small, about in the middle slightly obtusely angled, slightly recurved, oblong, broadly obtuse, glabrous, 3-nerved, 0.15 by 0.07 cm; base concave, the rest convex, at the back truncate. Column short, slightly dorsally compressed, 0.07 cm long; clinandrium concave, the apex triangular with a very small thread; rostellum porrect; column-foot making an obtuse angle with the ovary, thick, straight, truncate, 0.05 cm long. Anther cucullate; connective strongly gibbose. Ovarium short, obconical, 0.05 cm long. (After Smith, 1935)
