Epiphytic, unbranched, pendent, to 70 cm long. Stem thick, somewhat flattened, entirely covered with the leaf-sheaths, leafy, to 30 cm long, c. 1 cm diam. Leaves erect-patent, strap-shaped, at the apex unequally and obtusely bilobed, coriaceous, glabrous, 25-35 by 2.5-3 cm, at the base slightly narrowed; leaf-sheaths keeled. Inflorescence pendulous, slender, with a few very distant, laxly clasping peduncle-scales, terete, glabrous, c. 15 cm long; rachis rather densely many-flowered, cylindrical, c. 6 cm long, 2.5 cm diam. across the flowers. Floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous, slightly more than half as long as the ovary. Flowers patent. Sepals oblong, 0.7 cm long, glabrous. Median sepals broadly obtuse. Lateral sepals oblique, shortly acuminate. Petals obliquely oblong-subspathulate, obtuse, 0.6 cm long. Lip blade in outline oblong, obtuse, 0.8 cm long, glabrous; mouth of the spur in the middle constricted or even partly closed by lateral calli, when dried forming a double opening; spur funnel-shaped, at the apex slightly widened, hook-like incurved, c. 1 cm long. Column thick, very short; rostellum ligulate, ascending, apex emarginate. Anther ovate, in front rostrate-acuminate; pollinia 2, globose; stipe linear, convex, much longer than the pollinia; viscidium lanceolate, hidden under the tip of the stipe. Colours: Flower yellow with brown spots.

Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 600 to 1000 m.

Flowering time in the wild: March, April.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea).
