Sympodial epiphytes with very short rhizomes. Stem elongated, very slender, many-leaved. Leaves sheathing at the base, arranged in two rows, glabrous, deciduous, duplicate, narrow, thin-textured but rather stiff. Inflorescence lateral, a wiry raceme. Flowers opening in succession, small, resupinate, usually greenish or pinkish with a white lip. Sepals free. Petals free, narrower than the sepals. Lip without spur, not mobile, entire or 3-lobed. Column-foot present. Pollinia 8, solid, caudicles absent, stipe absent, viscidium present.
Distribution
Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea. About 7 species; in New Guinea about 4 species.
Habitat
Epiphytes in evergreen lowland forest.
Notes
Very similar to Appendicula, but with 8 pollinia, and a lip without basal appendage. A poorly studied genus with insignificant flowers, hardly ever seen in cultivation.
