Rhizome creeping, terete, 0.17 cm diam. Pseudobulbs 0.6-0.7 cm apart, ovoid, quadrangular with a longitudinal groove in the sides, c. 1.3-1.5 by 0.7-0.8 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf lanceolate, acute, coriaceous, c. 3.9 by 0.85 cm; base shortly contracted and conduplicate; midrib above grooved, underneath hardly prominent. Inflorescences 1-flowered, from the base of the pseudobulbs; peduncle c. 1.5 cm long, the base with a few small, tubular, apiculate, keeled, to 0.45 cm long sheaths. Floral bract tubular, apiculate, 0.35 cm long. Flower medium size, c. 1.7 cm diam. Median sepal lanceolate, near the middle strongly recurved, c. 2.35 by 0.55 cm, over the cilii 0.7 cm wide; base 5-nerved; apex subulate-apiculate, the margins involute; margins crenulate-dentate and the teeth subfasciculate-ciliate; midrib dorsally near the apex prominent; inside with numerous short, irregular, longitudinal, ciliate lamellae on the nerves. Lateral sepals obliquely lanceolate, slightly falcate, gradually narrowed to the apex, c. 2.25 by 0.63 cm without measuring the cilii; apex subulate-acute, with incurved margins; upper margin entire, glabrous, lower margin thin, incurved, crenulate and ciliate; 6-nerved; inside with similar short lamellae as on the median sepal. Petals very small, porrect; base sublobed-dilated, only attached in the middle, in outline obliquely ovate-triangular, obtuse, somewhat sigmoid, obtusely angled, convex, slightly wavy, erose, 1-nerved, 0.43 by 0.35 cm; upper half contracted; especially in the basal part finely ciliate, apex inside papillose; lower margin undulate. Lip mobile, above the base thickened, strongly recurved, the rest almost straight, oblong, pointed, subacute, almost flat, slightly convex, glabrous, 0.83 by 0.23 cm; nerves 7 near apex merging; base beyond the point of attachment extended in 2 auricle-like angular, fleshy lobes which are on the underside of the lip adnate; on upper side on the curved part broadly channelled. Column short, 0.14 cm long; stelidia obliquely triangular, acutely acuminate, as long as the anther. Anther cucullate, from above subquadrangular, with 2 basal, widely patent lobules, 0.07 cm wide; connective thickened, at the apex obtusely conical-elongated. Pollinia 4, laterally compressed, subelliptic, outside convex, almost 0.03 cm long; inner ones smaller than outer ones.; stigma subelliptic; column-foot making an obtuse angle with the ovary, thick, near the middle obtusely angled, incurved, upper part free, its base below the stigma with an obtuse-angled callus, apex strongly anchor-like dilated with incurved arms, 0.24 by 0.2 cm at the apex. Ovary 6-grooved, 0.38 cm long; pedicel c. 2.2 cm long, 0.2 cm above the base articulate. (After Smith, 1916)
