Epiphyte, to 40 cm high. Rhizome flexuose, slender. Pseudobulbs laxly spaced, cylindrical, towards the base somewhat dilated, 2-2.5 by 0.4-0.5 cm above the base; 1-leaved. Leaf narrowly lanceolate, acute, 13-15 by 2.3-3 cm about in the middle; base gradually narrowed into a short petiole. Inflorescences rather densely many-flowered, slender, rigid, almost two times as long as the leaves, to 40 cm long, with a few small peduncle-scales; rachis gradually developed, distichous. Floral bracts two-edged, ovate-falcate, shortly acuminate, somewhat shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flowers medium size for the section, glabrous. Sepals narrowly lanceolate, strongly acuminate, 2 cm long. Lateral sepals with at the base the front margin somewhat dilated, forming a short, obtuse, 0.4 cm long mentum with the column-foot. Petals obliquely ligulate, cuspidate-aristate, much smaller than the sepals, 0.4 cm long; apical half with serrate margins. Lip narrowly lanceolate, subulate-acuminate, 1.6 cm long; basal half with two longitudinal, obtuse ribs; basal lobes very small, falcate-oblong; apex truncate. Column medium size, near anther bicuspidate, 0.4 cm long; column-foot short. Ovary slender shortly pedicellate, glabrous, 1-1.2 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1923)
Colours: Flower pale yellow. Lip red-brown.
Habitat: Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 850-1500 m.
Flowering time in the wild: August, October, November.
