Epiphytic, branched, slender, apparently somewhat pendent. Stems slender, to 50 cm long, many-leaved, slightly compressed, entirely covered with very tightly clasping, minutely and densely finely warty sheaths with truncate apex. Leaves erect-patent, grass-like, narrowly lanceolate-linear, 8-12 by 0.5-0.7 cm, unequally and subacutely bilobulate, glabrous, thin-textured for the genus. Floral head nodding, sessile, subglobose or elliptic, to 1.3 cm across and 1.7 cm long, very densely many-flowered, spathe suborbicular, shortly pointed or apiculate. Floral bracts hyaline, elliptic-cucullate, pointed, almost as long as the ovary. Flowers glabrous. Sepals broadly elliptic, 0.45 cm long, obtuse. Lateral sepals at the base saccate-concave, connate almost up to the middle. Petals obliquely elliptic, obtuse, almost as long as the sepals. Lip spurred, blade broadly obovate, 0.25 cm long, obtuse, base somewhat thickened; spur 0.3 cm long. Column short, slightly more than a third as long as the lip, clinandrium with a few teeth, at the back triangular. Ovary cylindrical, sessile. (After Schlechter, 1922).

Colours: Flower light yellow or whitish with purple-red or bright orange-red (?) lip-blade.

Habitat: Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1400-1500 m.

Flowering time in the wild: June, July.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
