Erect, up to 50 cm high, epiphytic, much branched herb with drooping apical parts of branches. Stems terete, glabrous. Leaf coriaceous, patent, glabrous, linear, ovately widened in basal part, 0.6-1.8 by 0.1-0.2 cm, unequally 2-lobed at tip, but the lower lobe only developed sometimes as a small lobe, mid-rib shallowly grooved above, slightly prominent below, sheaths rather densely transversely warty, tubular 0.6-2 cm long, many-ribbed, apical margin with 0.1-0.25 cm long bristles, each slightly warty. Spathe scattered warty, obovoid-oblong, 1.5 by 0.3 cm, rounded, many-ribbed. Floral bract similar to spathe but up to 1.4 by 0.3 cm, ribs less strongly developed, warty in exposed part only. Ovary glabrous, clavate, 1.2 cm long, 3-sided, each rib double-crested. Flowers fragrant. Median sepal scattered papillate along apical parts of margin only, linear, ovately widened in basal part, 1.3 by 0.3 cm, acute, conoid-apiculate, 3-nerved at base, 9-nerved in higher parts. Lateral sepals scattered papillate at tip only, free, near, ovately widened in basal part, falcate, 1.4 by 0.3 cm, acute, conoid-apiculate, at base obliquely auricled-widened, nerved at base, up to 6-nerved in higher parts. Lateral petals glabrous, linear, ovately widened in basal part, 1 by 0.2 cm, obtuse, 3-nerved at base, 5-nerved in higher parts. Lip adnate base of column, free part cordate-ovate, 3-lobed, 0.3 by 0.5 cm, rounded and thickened at tip, 5-nerved, finely papillate on either side of thickened part, grooved on underside; spur glabrous, subclavate, 1.1 cm long, shallowly grooved above in basal part. Column short and stout, 0.2 by 0.15 by 0.15 cm, slightly curved, clinandrium coarsely dentate-crenulate and with 2 larger acute lobes. Anther not seen. Capsule not seen. (After Van Royen, 1979).

Colours: Flowers greenish yellow.

Habitat: Epiphyte in upper montane forest. Altitude 3100 m.

Flowering time in the wild: July.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).

Cultivation: Cool growing epiphyte.

Note: The genus Glossorhyncha is here considered to be a synonym of Glomera. For the present species a name under Glomera is not yet available; it may be a species already described under a different name.
