Scandent or scrambling, epiphytic, up to 80 cm long herb with horizontal, slightly drooping up to 40 cm long branches. Stems terete, glabrous. Leaf bifarious, patent, glabrous, ovate, 0.3-2.4 by 0.2-0.5 cm, unequally 2-lobed at tip, each lobe obtuse, mid-rib grooved above, prominently crested below, lateral nerves 3-6 on either side of mid-rib, with less developed ones in between, visible above, prominently crested below, margin erose, wavy; sheaths rather densely warty mainly on the ribs, 0.2-2.2 cm long, many-ribbed, along apical margin with 0.15-0.3 cm long bristles, each scattered papillate-warty. Spathe obovoid-tubular, 1 by 0.4 cm, obtuse or rounded, many-ribbed, mid-rib and larger nerves crested on outside, scattered papillate-warty, warts often hook-like retrorse. Floral bract tubular, 1.2 by 0.35 cm, rounded, many-ribbed but ribs less strongly developed than in spathe, papillate-warty as spathe but less dense. Ovary glabrous, narrowly clavate, slightly curved, 1.2 cm long, 9-ribbed, the 6 ribs on the sutures developed as twin ribs. Median sepal glabrous, oblong or oblong-ovate, 1.2-1.25 by 0.4-0.45 cm, obtuse, 3-nerved at base, up to 9-nerved higher. Lateral sepals glabrous, free, slightly falcate oblong-ovate, 1.2-1.4 by 0.35-0.45 cm, obtuse, at base oblong-ovate widened, 3-nerved at base, up to 8-nerved in apical part. Petals glabrous, narrowly obovate, 1-1.2 by 0.4 cm, rounded, 3-nerved at base, up to 7-nerved in higher parts. Lip adnate to base of column, free part triangular, 3-lobed, 0.5 by 0.5 cm, obtuse, 7-nerved, finely papillate along margin and in a narrow patch along latter; spur glabrous, clavate, 1.1-1.2 cm long, retuse-truncate, on upper side shallowly and broadly grooved. Column short and stout, 0.2 by 0.15 by 0.15 cm, clinandrium denticulate. Anther and capsule not seen. (After Van Royen, 1979).

Colours: Flowers green or white with a green lip, the latter with a black or grey margin and tip.

Habitat: Epiphyte in upper montane forest. Altitude 3250 m.

Flowering time in the wild: July.

Distribution: Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).

Cultivation: Cool growing epiphyte.

Note: The genus Glossorhyncha is here considered to be a synonym of Glomera. For the present species a name under Glomera is not yet available; it may be a species already described under a different name.
