Type: Baeuerlen s.n. (N. Guinea, Strickland R.) (holo B, lost)

Roots fleshy, fusiform. Stem erect, terete, 40-60 cm by 4-5 mm, at the base several-leaved. Leaves lanceolate, erect-patent, 17-22 by 2.2-3 cm, apex acute. Inflorescence racemose, 10-15 cm long, rather laxely many-flowered. Floral bracts foliaceous, lanceolate, erect-patent, as long as or shorter than the ovary, apex acuminate. Pedicel with ovary subcylindric, 1.5-1.8 cm long. Flowers resupinated, c. 1 cm wide. Dorsal sepal ovate, 0.5 cm by 3 mm, concave, apex narrowly obtuse. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate, about as long as the median sepal but a little wider, apex narrowly obtuse. Petals linear-subfalcate, forming a hood together with the median sepal, 0.5 cm long, apex obtuse. Lip 3-lobed, spurred; lateral lobes cuneate-rhomboid, 0.5 cm long, at apex 3 mm wide; mid-lobe linear, obtuse, 0.3 cm long; spur cylindric, slightly thickened towards the apex, 1.2 cm long. Column with subtriangular, obtuse rostellum, stigmatophores short, oblong, obtuse, hardly longer than the anther channels. Anther channels short. Colours: Sepals greenish, petals and lip pure white.

Habitat: Terrestrial in leaf-litter in hill and lower montane forest. Altitude 400-1000 m.

Flowering time in the wild: January, February, June, July.

Distribution: Celebes, Moluccas, New Guinea.
