Stem erect, elongated, terete, 48 cm long, in basal 28 cm covered with tubular sheaths, upper part leafy. Leaves c. 8, patent, lanceolate, acutely acuminate, long mucronate, narrowed at the base, with curved veins, mid-rib dorsally prominent, reticulate-veined, when dried membranous, 8-17 by 2-3.5 cm; sheaths tubular. Inflorescence erect, laxly c. 2o-flowered, peduncle 12 cm long, with c. 4 small, leaf-like, basally tubular, acuminate scales that become bract-like upwards, rachis 9 cm long. Floral bracts erect-patent, at the base ovate, long acuminate, sharply acute, concave, 3-nerved, to 2 cm long, 0.57 cm wide, upper ones smaller. Flowers turned to all sides, erect, widely opening, 1.5 cm wide, 1.85 cm long. Median sepal with the petals helmet-shaped, ovate-elliptic, very shortly acuminate, subulate-apiculate, at the apex slightly recurved, concave, with 3 dorsally prominent nerves, 0.83 cm long, a little over 0.5 cm wide. Lateral sepals patent, recurved at the apex, obliquely ovate, at the apex channelled-contracted, apiculate, with 3 dorsally prominent nerves, 0.9 by 0.43 cm wide. Petals deeply bipartite, at the basal attachment 0.3 cm wide; dorsal lobule erect, linear, angular-falcate, narrowly obtuse, subretuse, basally obliquely dilated, outer margin slightly incurved, 2-nerved, up to the base 0.7 cm long, above the base 0.14 cm wide; frontal lobule deflexed-patent, with the dorsal lobule making an obtuse angle, in c. 2/5 above the base rectangularly incurved, widely patent, linear-subulate, 1-nerved, up to the base 0.8-0.87 cm long, above the base hardly 0.1 cm wide. Lip at the base rather broadly attached, spurred, blade deflexed, 3-lobed; mid-lobe parallel with the spur, linear, subacute, convex, 3-nerved, 0.85-0.95 cm long, at the base 0.14 cm wide; lateral lobes with the mid-lobe making an acute angle, divergent, narrowly linear, channelled inside, in the middle with a few subulate projections and short, irregular teeth, 0.65-0.8 cm long; spur pointing downwards subcylindrical, slightly clavate, slightly dorsally compressed, obtuse, c. 1 cm long. Column erect, 0.34 cm long, staminodes finely warty, short. Anther erect, bilobed; thecae parallel, clavate, at the base obtusely angled-incurved, porrect. Rostellum mid-lobe erect, triangular, acute, lateral lobes linear, channelled. Stigmatophores decurved, parallel, oblong, obtuse, surpassing the anther channels. Habitat: Terrestrial in montane forest. Altitude 1800-2100 m.

Flowering time in the wild: May, October.
